Among the Hidden

In the book Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix the main character
in the book, Luke is a shadow child. Shadow children are not supposed to
exist so Luke has been hiding all his life. Luke wants to see the outside world
only to be stopped by the population law that keeps kids like Luke
“nonexistent”. When Luke meets another kid like him he spends most of
his time at her house. Luke and Jen know that someday they will have to
make a move, Jen thinks it best to rally but Luke disagrees and for a good
reason, the penalty of being a third child is death. Luke tried to convince
Jen that this was not a good idea but got into a fight with her and cannot
stop worrying about her.

Book 6

In the last pages of the book Allegiant it describes of two tragic losses that Tobias had.  
One of the losses he had was losing his friends little brother, Uriah. He also lost Tris
because she went into the weapons lab and then she got thru it and was shot in the neck
by David. Two years later Tobias is living in the city that he was born in and is still
mourning for the loss of  Tris.
