Matilda.
In the book Matilda by Roald Dahl it tells of a girl who is rejected by her parents because she likes reading instead of watching the telly. Matilda taught herself to read at the age of three. And at age four she could read fast and well. She read the only book in the house, Easy Cooking, it belonged to her mother. She goes to school and meets this lovely teacher, Miss Honey, with an odd backstory. Matilda goes to the library and checks out a lot of books, she read Great Expectations by Charles Dickens! Miss Honey helps Matilda in her education. Because of her families rude behavior Matilda thinks she has to make them pay. She does this by pretending there is a Ghost by stuffing a parrot up a chimney, and also by gluing a hat to her father’s head. Her family doesn’t know she is doing this. Miss Trunchbull, the principal of her school, is another mean person in Matilda’s life and blames Matilda for everything. At the end when Matilda’s family is running away because the government found out her dad, Mr. Wormwood was selling second hand cars for first-hand cars. Miss Trunchbull runs away and is never seen from again. Mrs. Honey finally adopts Matilda. Friday, April 19, 2019
